First-time pro bowler Trey Smith has been a huge reason for the Chiefs' success, from getting drafted in the sixth round, 226th overall, of the 2021 NFL draft to becoming well-known for his aggressive style of play. Smith will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. So, Chiefs fans, I hope you cherished these playoffs, as he may have played his last game as a Chief. Why, you may ask?

Option 1 - Resign Trey Smith

SportTrac estimates Trey Smith's contract will be around 80 million dollars for 4 years, or $19,314,620 annually. In contrast, the top of the guard market's last free agency was 21.5 million dollars with Landon Dickerson from the Eagles.
