Frank Reich Fired and Replaced with Jeff Saturday

Frank Reich’s season hasn’t gone the way anyone expected, least of all him. Now, the Colts have moved on from Riech and hired former Colt lineman Jeff Saturday as their Interim Head Coach. Saturday, who has no college or NFL coaching experience, is close to the team and, presumably, its owner, Jim Irsay.

This move feels like the leadership is in panic mode, circling the wagons. Now, that doesn’t sound like Chris Ballard, does it?

No. That’s because it’s not like Chris Ballard.

Jim Irsay has a track record of erratic decision-making, and this smacks of him. Ballard’s got a top-notch Front office, but losing can spur owners into rash decisions. Does that mean Irsay forced this move, directing Ballard to make the change?

Likely it does.

Does it mean that the Ballard Front Office is in jeopardy?

Unfortunately, maybe it does.
