Five teams that got better at NFL Deadline
Trade deadline Winners ready to make a push starting in Week 10
Week 10 kicks off the second half of the 18-week regular season for 2024. These five teams were able to help themselves either now, in the push for the post-season, or in their uncertain future.
The Chiefs’ Chance for a Historic Three-Peat
The Kansas City Chiefs are aiming to make NFL history by winning their third consecutive Super Bowl. No team has ever pulled off a “three-peat,” but with an 8-0 record so far, the Chiefs seem well-positioned. Head coach Andy Reid and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo are getting the most out of their roster, and they weren’t passive during the trade window.
The Chiefs traded a conditional 2025 fifth-round pick to the Titans for star receiver DeAndre Hopkins and a 2026 sixth-round pick to the Patriots for edge rusher Joshua Uche. Hopkins has already made a big impact, with an impressive performance in an overtime win against the Buccaneers, logging 86 yards and two touchdowns. His presence also gives tight end Travis Kelce more room to thrive, as defenses now have to account for both threats. The Chiefs are showing they know how to revive veteran talents and make them integral parts of their winning formula.
