If the NFL playoffs started today, the two sides of the bracket couldn't be more different!
The AFC is swapping spots as the top teams battle down the stretch of the regular season. The competition is incredible! Quarterback injuries cast a big shadow on the AFC landscape.
On the NFC side, the Eagles stand as the lone power while questions loom about the two, three and four seeds. Hope has given way as mediocrity is defining the wild cards.
The rankings represent teams currently holding a playoff birth, ordered based on head-to-head projections if they played this week.
Wk14 Playoff Power Ranking Movement
Vikings
Status: Pale in comparison
The 49ers and Cowboys rise over Vikings who beat a formidable Jets squad. The 49ers Quarterback situation is bothersome, but the defense is what turns the tide. Christmas Eve may be what changes our thoughts on 2-3-4 in the NFC
Seahawks
Status: Pushing Through
The Seahawks get back on the Power Rankings this week by beating a divisional foe. That and that neither WFT nor Giants could get a win head-to-head. Seahawks can beat them both, and they get a flawed Carolina team this week.
Bengals
Status: Rising to the Top
The Bengals earned a pile of credit for downing the Chiefs. This team is on the rise, and this week shouldn’t be a massive challenge despite the return of DeShaun Watson for the Browns.
Chiefs
Status: Tripping over themselves
The Chiefs wish they had last week back. By losing to Cincinnati, they fall to the second seed and third in our rankings. They get a demoralized Broncos team in Denver this week.
Dolphins
Status: Took their foot off the gas
The Dolphins have been racing across the NFL lately. They lost control vs the 49ers, even without Jimmy G. They can get back up to speed vs the flailing but dangerous Chargers next.
